My Vintage Find: “All About Home Baking”

One of my recent finds at my favorite antique store was “All About Baking”, a vintage cookbook published in 1933. I initially bought the book as part of a vintage cookbook collection I started, but decided it would be fun to actually try some of the recipes also.I was looking to make some simple cupcakes and found the recipe for “Economic Gold Cake”. Although it suggests you top it with the “Luscious Lemon Frosting”, I chose to make one of the other ones, “Butter Frosting”. The recipe was simple and came out delicious! I would recommend this recipe as well as this cookbook to anyone who enjoys baking. Check out your local antique shops or eBay to find a copy. Have any vintage cookbook suggestions? Let me know about them in the comments. You can find the recipes for “Economical Gold Cake” and “Butter Frosting” here. Enjoy!

Looks delicious! We should make some for the Holidays. I love the idea of a vintage cupcake recipe.
